User expectations of online information

Abstract

User's expectations that the display screens used in online documentation will be understandable, transparent as to mechanics, intelligent in dynamic interaction, animated, and capable of being read at an acceptable speed are discussed. Ways of meeting these expectations are presented, and areas of future research are suggested.
